Oakley Capital Private Equity (“OCPE”, the “Fund”) is pleased to announce the establishment today, alongside other international investors, of Educas Investments LLP (“Educas”), an international investment vehicle established to acquire premium private schools.  The first investment by Educas is in Reddam Schools Holdings Limited (“Reddam”), a group of premium private schools in South Africa owned by renowned South African educator Graeme Crawford and his family.  Reddam currently has 4,000 pupils and owns two schools in Cape Town (Constantia and Atlantic Seaboard) and two in Johannesburg (Bedfordview and Waterfall).

As part of this transaction, Reddam’s founder, Graeme Crawford, will retain a significant stake in Reddam and will work with Educas to identify new opportunities for schools, both in South Africa and in other jurisdictions.

David Keech Director, Oakley Capital Limited (Investment Advisor to OCPE), said:

“This investment further demonstrates Oakley’s appetite to work with successful founders and entrepreneurs and we look forward to helping Educas to develop into a leading international schools group.”
