Formed in 2001, Daisy has grown into one of the UK’s leading telecommunications providers, with 360,000 indirect and direct customers, c2,100 partners, c4,000 employees, and 30+ locations nationwide.

We acquired a minority stake in Daisy in July 2009. By the time the company went private in November 2014, its market capital had increased from £204m to £494m. We then reinvested in Daisy in July 2015, following its acquisition of Phoenix IT Group PLC.

This evolving market is creating a number of smaller companies that make for viable acquisition targets. Managing Partner & Co-Founder

Peter Dubens is the founder and Managing Partner of the Oakley Capital Group, a privately-owned asset management and advisory group comprising Private Equity, Venture Capital, Corporate Finance managing approximately €1.6 billion.

Peter founded Oakley Capital in 2002 to be a best of breed entrepreneurially driven UK investment house, creating an ecosystem that supports the companies Oakley Capital invests in whether they are early stage companies or established businesses.

David Till

Senior Partner & Co-Founder

David Till co-founded the Oakley Capital Group in 2002 with Peter Dubens. David plays a key role within the group and has overall responsibility for operations, finance, due diligence, compliance and fund formation.

David worked with Peter Dubens on the development of 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc where he led all the 26 acquisitions and disposals between 2002 and 2007. In 2007 following the sale of both 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc, Peter and David launched Oakley Capital Private Equity.

David holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Essex University. He started his career in the British Army, then later qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand and worked in industry as a finance director, before returning to the profession holding senior M&A roles.

Alex Collins

Partner

Alex joined Oakley in 2007 and has over 19 years of private equity investment and operational experience Alex’s focus at Oakley is primarily on deal origination, execution, portfolio management and realisation.

Alex began his career at GE Capital in 1995 before being seconded to Advent International for two years as Associate Director. He subsequently joined Henderson Private Capital as Principal. Alex joined Oakley in 2007 from Wharfedale Capital where he was a Partner involved in purchasing secondary assets.

Alex holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economic History from Union College, New York.

Rebecca Gibson

Partner

Rebecca joined Oakley in 2014 and has over 16 years of private equity investment experience. Rebecca’s focus at Oakley is deal origination and she leads all marketing and investor relations activities.

Prior to joining Oakley, Rebecca was a Partner at Cinven. During her 12 year career at Cinven, she led and worked on deals in the healthcare, consumer and service sectors across Europe, and assisted with several successful fundraisings. Prior to joining Cinven, Rebecca spent five years working as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company in the UK and South Africa.

Rebecca holds a BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.

David Brickell

Partner

David joined Oakley in 2013 and has over 15 years of principal investing, M&A and operational experience. David’s focus at Oakley is primarily on deal origination, execution, portfolio management and realisation.

David started his career at Credit Suisse’s Principal Transaction Group in 1998 in New York and London, before moving to Morgan Stanley in London where he focused on media and telecoms M&A and private equity. He then moved to Candover, where he was an Investment Director involved in a wide range of prospective, completed and exited deals and he also jointly set up Candover’s Asian operations in Hong Kong. He subsequently spent four years as the co-founder and COO of a SaaS internet start-up before joining Oakley in 2013.

David holds an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD Business School in France/Singapore, and an MA (Oxon) in Law from Pembroke College, Oxford.

Arthur Mornington

Partner

Arthur joined Oakley in 2017 and has over 15 years of private equity investing experience. Arthur’s focus at Oakley is primarily on deal origination, execution, portfolio management and realisation.

Prior to joining Oakley, Arthur was a Partner at Charterhouse Capital Partners where he worked for 10 years. During his time at Charterhouse he was involved in the origination, execution and management of a number of the firm’s successful investments – especially in the media, education and business services sectors. He started his career at Bain & Company and has also worked at BC Partners and Exponent Private Equity.

Arthur holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Christ Church, Oxford.

Ralf Schremper

Partner

Ralf joined Oakley in 2017 and has more than 15 years of M&A and investment experience. Ralf’s focus at Oakley is primarily on deal origination, execution, portfolio management and realisation.

Prior to joining Oakley, Ralf served as a Member of the Executive Board and Chief Strategy and Investment Officer of DAX-listed ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE, the publicly listed German media company. In this role, he was directly responsible for the Company’s strategic acquisitions in recent years, significantly contributing to the expansion of ProSiebenSat.1’s digital entertainment and commerce portfolio. Previously, he held senior positions at Bertelsmann, RTL Group, and was founder and CEO of an online education start-up.

Ralf holds a PhD in Finance (summa cum laude) from University of Bochum and a Master in Business Administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) from University of Cologne.

Steven Tredget

Partner

Steven joined Oakley in 2017 and has more than 18 years of investment banking experience. Steven’s focus is fund raising, communications and investor relations for Oakley and its portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Oakley, Steven was a founding partner of investment bank Liberum Capital. Over 9 years he raised equity capital for hundreds of companies and advised on public market listings. He began his career in 1997 at Collins Stewart, where he held equity research and sales roles.

Steven holds a BSc (Hons) in Banking and Finance from Loughbough University

Vicente Castellano

Operating Partner

Vicente joined Oakley in 2017 and has over 17 years of experience in managing, developing and coordinating global leading retail brands. Vicente’s focus at Oakley is to lead and develop the portfolio companies, with a current focus on North Sails Apparel, and origination, with a particular focus on Spain and the consumer sector.

Prior to joining Oakley, Vicente worked as Managing Director at Hackett London, where he managed the development and growth of the brand to become an international player.

Prior to this, Vicente was Licensees and International Director for Pepe Jeans London and Director at Coach Europe JV and had been Board Member in Pepe Jeans Group since 2005. During these 17 years Vicente has actively participated in the growth and performance of the group and been involved in three successful buy outs from different Private Equity Groups.

Vicente holds a BA in Business Administration and Finance from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and was part of INSEAD Young Managers Programme.

Martin Bavinton

General Counsel

Martin joined Oakley in 2009 and has 18 years of legal experience in corporate finance and M&A law. Martin’s focus at Oakley is advice and support to the Oakley Capital Private Equity team on legal, commercial, regulatory and structural matters in relation to Oakley’s funds as well as their potential and existing investments.

Prior to joining Oakley, Martin spent over 11 years with law firm Ashurst LLP in the City of London and in Madrid, specialising in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.

Martin is a qualified solicitor, has an MA in Modern Languages from Oxford University and attended the College of Law, London.

Marcus Biggs

Marcus joined Oakley in 2017 and has 21 years experience advising on legal matters with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, equity financing and company law. At Oakley, Marcus provides legal support and guidance to the Group.

Prior to joining Oakley, Marcus was a counsel at City law firm SJ Berwin (which later became King & Wood Mallesons). At SJ Berwin, Marcus led numerous transactions for both private equity and strategic investors, as well as overseeing a large number of Stock Exchange listings and public market fundraisings.

Marcus has an LLB in law from Exeter University and also attended Exeter University’s law school.

Amjid Zaman

Chief Financial Officer

Amjid joined Oakley in 2008 and has over 18 years of operational finance experience in the technology, media and financial services sectors. Amjid’s focus at Oakley is managing all financial and business planning activities within the Oakley Group.

Prior to joining Oakley, Amjid was Group Financial Controller at Pipex which executed a buy and build strategy of telecoms and hosting companies followed by sale of the integrated businesses. He started his career at Deloitte and has also worked at Singlepoint (Caudwell Group) and Pembroke VCT.

Amjid qualified as a chartered accountant in 1997 and holds a BA (Hons) in Engineering Science from Exeter College, Oxford.

David Keech

Investment Director

David joined Oakley in 2010 and focuses primarily on deal execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, David has worked with a number of Oakley’s online assets, including Emesa, Verivox, Facile and Casa & atHome. In addition, David is currently working with AMOS, which is the platform investment for a roll-up in the higher education sector.

Prior to joining Oakley, David worked at KPMG Corporate Finance for four years advising on mid-market M&A transactions in the Consumer and Healthcare markets in the UK and Western Europe.

David holds the ICAEW’s Advanced Diploma in Corporate Finance and an MA (Oxon) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Magdalen College, Oxford.

Fred Raikes

Investment Director

Fred joined Oakley in 2011 and focuses primarily on origination, deal execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, Fred has worked on Oakley’s investments in WebPros, TechInsights, North Sails, Daisy Data Centres and Time Out.

Prior to joining Oakley, Fred worked for PwC’s Debt and Restructuring Advisory team where he advised clients on raising debt for mid-market M&A, refinancing existing facilities and credit ratings.

Fred qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2010 and holds a BA (Hons) in Business & Management from Exeter University.

Sam Fenton-Whittet

Investment Director

Sam joined Oakley in 2015 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, Sam has worked on Oakley’s investments in Career Partner Group, Schülerhilfe and Inspired and Time Out Markets.

Prior to joining Oakley, Sam was Speechwriter and Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne. He previously worked in a number of finance positions in HM Treasury, including as senior adviser responsible for coordinating the government’s £40bn annual capital budget.

Sam holds an MA (Oxon) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Balliol College, Oxford.

Sascha Günther

Investment Director

Sascha joined Oakley in 2018 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management with a focus on the German-speaking region.

Prior to joining Oakley, Sascha was Vice President at ProSiebanSat.1 where he led on multiple investments in the digital commerce and consumer health space. Previous to this, Sascha worked as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, advising on Retail & Consumer and Private Equity.

Sascha holds an MBA from the London Business School and a degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from Technische Universität München, Germany.

Tom Twiney

Investment Manager

Tom joined Oakley in 2014 and focuses primarily on deal execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, Tom has worked on the acquisitions of Damovo, Parship and WebPros. Tom has also managed the implementation of the iLevel portfolio management system.

Prior to joining Oakley Capital, Tom was Head of Commercial Finance at Daisy Group plc and has experience of pricing, project finance, budgeting and monthly reporting.

Tom is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Computer Science from Durham University.

Hayley Whitehead

Investment Manager

Hayley joined Oakley in 2016 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management. During her time at Oakley, Hayley has worked on Oakley’s investments in Career Partner Group, TechInsights, Schülerhilfe and Casa &atHome. Hayley also organises the debt financing across the portfolio.

Prior to joining Oakley, Hayley worked at Rothschild where she advised on debt financing for LBOs, refinancings and restructurings. She also previously worked at CIBC World Markets where she advised on a range of transactions across M&A, debt and equity.

Hayley holds a BCom, Major in Finance and General Management from McGill University and is a CFA® charterholder.

Luke Frizoni

Investment Manager

Luke joined Oakley in 2013 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, Luke has worked on Oakley’s investments in North Sails, Daisy Group and Career Partner Group.

Prior to joining Oakley, Luke worked in the Transaction Services team at Deloitte LLP in London, where he provided financial due diligence to corporate and private equity clients undertaking M&A and public transactions.

Luke is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Studies from Cass Business School, City University London.

Jonathan Clapham

Investment Manager

Jonathan joined Oakley in 2015 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, Jonathan has worked on Oakley’s investments in Casa & atHome and Plesk.

Prior to joining Oakley, Jonathan worked at Canaccord Genuity, advising mid-market private equity houses and corporate clients on a variety of public and private company transactions. Previously Jonathan worked in PwC’s Corporate Finance team where he advised on M&A deals across a range of sectors.

Jonathan is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Finance from Manchester University.

Lovis von Andrian

Investment Manager

Lovis joined Oakley in 2016 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management. During his time at Oakley, Lovis has worked on Oakley‘s investments in WebPros, TechInsights and Parship.

Prior to joining Oakley, Lovis worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, working on fund investments and deal origination, primarily in Russia, Turkey and the Baltics States. Previously, Lovis worked in PwC’s Transaction Services team in London, where he provided financial due diligence to corporate and private equity clients undertaking M&A transactions in the TMT sector in the UK and Germany.

Lovis is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc (Hons) in Management from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Konstantin Synetos

Investment Associate

Konstantin joined Oakley in 2018 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management.

Prior to joining Oakley, Konstantin worked at OPTrust Private Markets Group in London, working on direct and fund investments across Private Equity and Infrastructure in Europe. Previously, Konstantin worked at Jefferies in London, where he advised on M&A transactions in the Industrials sector across Europe.

Konstantin holds an MBA from INSEAD Business School in Paris and Singapore and a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Economics from University College London (UCL).

Mike Mutsaers

Investment Associate

Mike joined Oakley in 2018 and focuses primarily on deal origination, execution and portfolio management.

Prior to joining Oakley, Mike worked at Bain & Company, working on corporate strategy and re-organisation projects across a range of industries, as well as multiple commercial due-diligence projects as part of the private equity practice. Previously, Mike worked at Slaughter and May, where he focused on corporate and M&A advisory, as well as debt and equity capital markets.

Mike is a qualified solicitor and holds a BA (Hons) in International History from the London School of Economics.

Anna Simpson

Investor Relations Manager

Anna joined Oakley in 2015 to help develop the Investor Relations function. Anna’s responsibilities include assisting with fundraising activities, communicating with and reporting to investors and keeping the wider investment community updated on Oakley’s activities.

Prior to joining Oakley, Anna started her career with Ernst & Young LLP in the Financial Services Assurance practice. She worked primarily on audits of large life insurance companies. Post qualification, Anna transferred to EY’s Restructuring practice and worked across a variety of sectors.

Anna is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc Joint Honours in Economics and Mathematics from Newcastle University.

Sasha Goff

Compliance Executive

Sasha joined Oakley in 2013 and assists in monitoring compliance across the Oakley Group, writing policies for the firm and ensuring that they are up to date with changes in laws and regulations. Sasha also conducts in-house annual training for Anti-Money Laundering.

Prior to joining Oakley, Sasha worked as a Paralegal at Berwin Leighton Paisner in the Litigation department and before that also as a Paralegal at Rosling King LLP.

Sasha has completed both the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course, and holds a BSc (Hons) in Social Policy from Bristol University.

Radhika Johal

Fund Financial Controller

Radhika joined Oakley in 2016 and primarily focuses on fund finance and business operations.

Prior to joining Oakley, Radhika was Audit Senior Manager at BDO working with a range of mid-market private equity clients.

Previously, Radhika was Manager at EY working in Transaction Services and Audit Practices, where she provided financial due diligence and audit services to private equity clients.

Radhika is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BA (Hons) in Accounting and Business Information Systems from University of Manchester.

Maeve O’Toole

Finance Senior Associate

Maeve joined Oakley in 2016 and is part of the fund finance and business operations team.

Prior to joining Oakley, Maeve worked in the assurance practice in KPMG, Bermuda, primarily auditing domestic banks and off-shore funds. She was part of the development team for new audit tenders, and gained experience on internal management practices by aiding clients in their transitions to smoother and more aligned systems.

Maeve is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of Cork, Ireland.

David Rawlings

Fund Accountant

David joined Oakley in 2010 and focuses primarily on fund finance and business operations.

Prior to working in Fund Finance, David was as a member of the Finance team where he worked alongside several departments and on a variety of projects, before making the transition to Private Equity in 2016.

David is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc (Hons) in Business and Economics from The University of Kent.

Inna Lozinskaya

Inna joined Oakley in March 2011 and provides research and executive support to the private equity team.

Educated in Russia and the UK, Inna is bilingual and prior to joining Oakley she worked with a corporate broker in the City.

Alice Nicholls

Alice joined Oakley in August 2016. She graduated from the University of Exeter where she obtained a Bachelor of Art’s degree in Geography.

Kate Harris

Team Assistant

Kate joined Oakley in January 2018. She graduated from The Fashion Retail Academy with a diploma in Fashion Buying and Merchandising.

Helene Kutz

Team Assistant

Helene joined Oakley in July 2018. She completed her apprenticeship to become a Hotel Specialist in Berlin and has been working for over 10 years in hotels around the world.
