Peter Dubens is the founder and Managing Partner of the Oakley Capital Group, a privately owned asset management and advisory group comprising Private Equity, Venture Capital, Corporate Finance managing approximately €1.7 billion.

Peter founded Oakley Capital in 2002 to be a best of breed entrepreneurially driven UK investment house, creating an ecosystem that supports the companies Oakley Capital invests in whether they are early stage companies or established businesses. Within Oakley Private Equity, Peter has sold businesses resulting in proceeds to the funds of over €480 million and realising a gross IRR of 45% on those investments.

David Till co-founded the Oakley Capital Group in 2002 with Peter Dubens. David plays a key role within the business and has overall responsibility for operations, due diligence, finance, fund formation and compliance.

David worked with Peter Dubens on the development of 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc where he led all the 26 acquisitions and disposals between 2002 and 2007. In 2007 following the sale of both 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc Peter Dubens and David launched Oakley Capital Private Equity, which is his principal focus. David has responsibility for all acquisitions and disposals made by the private equity funds that they advise.

David holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Essex University and started his career in the British Army, then later qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in their London Financial Services industry group. The next phase of his career was in corporate finance where he worked for both Andersen Consulting and Ernst & Young. His varied career has put him in good stead to drive the development of the Oakley Capital Group and its activities.

Alex has over 19 years of private equity investment and operational experience, including originating and structuring transactions in a range of sectors and geographies from growth equity to MBOs to restructuring and turnaround situations. He started his career at GE Capital in 1995 before being seconded to Advent International for two years as Associate Director. He subsequently joined Henderson Private Capital as Principal. Alex joined Oakley in 2007 from Wharfedale Capital where he was a Partner involved in purchasing secondary assets.

Alex’s focus at Oakley is deal origination, execution, portfolio management and position realisation.

Alex holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economic History from Union College, New York.

Rebecca has over 15 years of private equity investment experience. She joined Oakley in 2014 and was previously a Partner at Cinven, the European private equity firm. During her 12 year career at Cinven, she led and worked on deals in the healthcare, consumer and service sectors across Europe, and assisted with several successful fundraisings. She has also personally advised & invested in early stage businesses including Orlebar Brown (men’s luxury clothing brand), Bloom&Wild (on line flower delivery), Leon (healthy fast food) and Student Cribs (student property fund). Prior to joining Cinven, Rebecca spent five years working as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company in the UK and South Africa.

Rebecca’s focus at Oakley is deal origination and investor relations, and she sits on the board of PARSHIP ELITE, a leader in the European on line dating sector and Damovo, a European Unified Communications provider.

Rebecca holds a BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.

David has over fifteen years of principal investing, M&A and operational experience. He started his career at Credit Suisse’s Principal Transaction Group in 1998 in New York and London, before moving to Morgan Stanley in London where he focused on media and telecoms M&A and private equity, and then to Candover, the pan-European fund focused on mid to large cap control buyouts. At Candover, he was an Investment Director involved in a wide range of prospective, completed and exited deals, mostly in consumer-facing sectors across a range of European geographies, and he also jointly set up Candover’s Asian operations in Hong Kong. He subsequently spent four years as the co-founder and COO of a SaaS internet start-up before joining Oakley in 2013.

David’s focus at Oakley is primarily deal execution, as well as origination, portfolio management and position realisation.

David holds an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD Business School in France/Singapore, and an MA (Oxon) in Law from Oxford University.

Arthur joined Oakley in 2017 and has 14 years of private equity investing experience. He was previously a Partner at Charterhouse Capital Partners where he worked for 10 years. During his time at Charterhouse he was involved in the origination, execution and management of a number of the firm’s successful investments – especially in the media, education and business services sectors. He started his career at Bain & Company and has also worked at BC Partners and Exponent Private Equity.

Peter Dubens is an entrepreneur, best known for founding the Oakley Capital Group, a privately owned asset management and advisory group comprising private equity, venture capital, corporate finance and capital introduction operations, managing over US$1.1 billion.

Over the last 30 years Peter has acquired, restructured and consolidated public and private companies, including the formation of two public companies, namely 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc. The 365 Media platform consolidated 12 businesses within the online sports information and gambling industry and the Pipex platform consolidated 14 businesses within the telecoms and internet industries. 365 Media was sold for over £102 million to BSkyB and the main operating divisions of Pipex were sold for approximately £370 million.

In 2007 Peter launched Oakley Capital Private Equity, with David Till, to be an entrepreneurially-driven UK investment house, encouraging and backing entrepreneurship. To that end, Oakley Capital Private Equity, invests in and supports the continued growth and development of some of Europe’s leading companies, including the global multimedia platform Time Out; the iconic sailing brand, North Sails; Facile, Italy’s leading price comparison website; and Parship, a leading online dating company.
Oakley Capital Private Equity’s first Fund was a €288 million 2007-vintage fund, and was succeeded by Fund II, a €524 million 2013-vintage fund.

Peter is Managing Partner of Oakley and focuses on deal origination, portfolio management and Oakley Capital Private Equity’s fundraising and investor relations.

Vicente joined Oakley in 2017 as an Operating Partner to lead and develop the portfolio companies and to create new opportunities to be added to the portfolio.

Vicente has over 17 years of experience in managing, developing and coordinating global leading retail brands. Most recently, Vicente worked as Managing Director at Hackett London, where he managed the development and growth of the brand to become a truly international player.

Prior to this, Vicente was Licensees and International Director for Pepe Jeans London and Director at Coach Europe JV and had been Board Member in Pepe Jeans Group since 2005. During these 17 years Vicente has actively participated in the growth and performance of the Group and been involved in three successful buy outs from different Private Equity Groups.

Vicente holds a BA in Business Administration and Finance from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and was part of INSEAD Young Managers Programme.

Prior to joining Oakley, Anna started her career with Ernst & Young LLP in the Financial Services Assurance practice. She worked primarily on audits of large life insurance companies, but gained experience with other financial services clients during a short term secondment to the Melbourne office in 2014. Post qualification, Anna transferred to EY’s Restructuring practice and worked across a variety of sectors.

Anna qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2014 and holds a BSc Joint Honours in Economics and Mathematics from Newcastle University.

Maeve joined Oakley in 2016 and is part of the fund finance and business operations team.

Prior to joining Oakley, Maeve worked in the assurance practice in KPMG, Bermuda, primarily auditing domestic banks and off-shore funds. She was part of the development team for new audit tenders, and gained experience on internal management practices by aiding clients in their transitions to smoother and more aligned systems.

Previously, Maeve worked in PwC, Dublin spending 3.5 years auditing large banking clients and a number of various smaller securitisation and fund entities.

Maeve qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2013, and holds a BSc in Accounting from the University of Cork, Ireland.
