Peter Dubens is the founder and Managing Partner of the Oakley Capital Group, a privately owned asset management and advisory group comprising Private Equity, Venture Capital, Corporate Finance managing approximately €1.5 billion.

Peter founded Oakley Capital in 2002 to be a best of breed entrepreneurially driven UK investment house, creating an ecosystem that supports the companies Oakley Capital invests in whether they are early stage companies or established businesses. Within Oakley Private Equity, Peter has sold businesses resulting in proceeds to the funds of over €480 million and realising a gross IRR of 45% on those investments.

David Till co-founded the Oakley Capital Group in 2002 with Peter Dubens. David plays a key role within the business and has overall responsibility for operations, due diligence, finance, fund formation and compliance.

David worked with Peter Dubens on the development of 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc where he led all the 26 acquisitions and disposals between 2002 and 2007. In 2007 following the sale of both 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc Peter Dubens and David launched Oakley Capital Private Equity, which is his principal focus. David has responsibility for all acquisitions and disposals made by the private equity funds that they advise.

David holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from Essex University and started his career in the British Army, then later qualified as a chartered accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in their London Financial Services industry group. The next phase of his career was in corporate finance where he worked for both Andersen Consulting and Ernst & Young. His varied career has put him in good stead to drive the development of the Oakley Capital Group and its activities.

Stewart has over 39 years of operational experience. During his career he has held a number of COO, CFO and financial positions at Wilkinson Sword and TI Group before joining Cable & Wireless in 1990, initially at Mercury Communications, and later in C&W’s Global Markets as Director of Finance & Business Development. In 1998 he became involved with establishing a number of European telecoms start-up businesses.

Prior to joining Oakley in 2010, Stewart was a founder and CFO of Pipex Communications plc and was instrumental in the development of the Pipex group. From 2000 to 2009, Pipex grew from a pure start-up to a business with over £400 million of revenues, driven mainly by a series of 14 acquisitions. Stewart oversaw the successful disposal of Pipex.

Stewart started his career at Ernst & Young where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

Stewart is Group Chief Operating Officer at Oakley and is responsible for operations and investor relations at Oakley Capital Private Equity.

Stewart is an FCA and holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Aston University.

Alex has over 19 years of private equity investment and operational experience, including originating and structuring transactions in a range of sectors and geographies from growth equity to MBOs to restructuring and turnaround situations. He started his career at GE Capital in 1995 before being seconded to Advent International for two years as Associate Director. He subsequently joined Henderson Private Capital as Principal. Alex joined Oakley in 2007 from Wharfedale Capital where he was a Partner involved in purchasing secondary assets.

Alex’s focus at Oakley is deal origination, execution, portfolio management and position realisation.

Alex holds an MSc from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economic History from Union College, New York.

Rebecca has over 13 years of private equity investment experience. She joined Oakley in 2014 and was previously a Partner at Cinven, the European private equity firm. During her 12 year career at Cinven, she originated and led deals across the healthcare, retail, leisure communications and service sectors across Europe, and assisted with several successful fundraisings. She has also personally advised early stage businesses including Orlebar Brown (luxury swimwear), Atterley (fashion e-tailer) and Student Cribs (student property fund). Prior to joining Cinven, Rebecca spent five years working as a strategy consultant at Bain & Company in the UK and South Africa.

Rebecca’s focus at Oakley is deal origination, execution, portfolio management and position realisation.

Rebecca holds a BA (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.

David has over fifteen years of principal investing, M&A and operational experience. He started his career at Credit Suisse’s Principal Transaction Group in 1998 in New York and London, before moving to Morgan Stanley in London where he focused on media and telecoms M&A and private equity, and then to Candover, pan-European fund focused on mid to large cap control buyouts. At Candover, he was an Investment Director involved in a wide range of prospective, completed and exited deals, mostly in consumer-facing sectors across a range of European geographies, and he also jointly set up Candover’s Asian operations in Hong Kong. He subsequently spent four years as the co-founder and COO of a SaaS internet start-up before joining Oakley in 2013.

David’s focus at Oakley is primarily deal execution, as well as origination, portfolio management and position realisation.

David holds an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD Business School in France/Singapore, and an MA (Oxon) in Law from Oxford University.

Peter Dubens is an entrepreneur, best known for founding the Oakley Capital Group, a privately owned asset management and advisory group comprising private equity, venture capital, corporate finance and capital introduction operations, managing over US$1.1 billion.

Over the last 30 years Peter has acquired, restructured and consolidated public and private companies, including the formation of two public companies, namely 365 Media Group plc and Pipex Communications plc. The 365 Media platform consolidated 12 businesses within the online sports information and gambling industry and the Pipex platform consolidated 14 businesses within the telecoms and internet industries. 365 Media was sold for over £102 million to BSkyB and the main operating divisions of Pipex were sold for approximately £370 million.

In 2007 Peter launched Oakley Capital Private Equity, with David Till, to be an entrepreneurially-driven UK investment house, encouraging and backing entrepreneurship. To that end, Oakley Capital Private Equity, invests in and supports the continued growth and development of some of Europe’s leading companies, including the global multimedia platform Time Out; the iconic sailing brand, North Sails; Facile, Italy’s leading price comparison website; and Parship, a leading online dating company.
Oakley Capital Private Equity’s first Fund was a €288 million 2007-vintage fund, and was succeeded by Fund II, a €524 million 2013-vintage fund.

Peter is Managing Partner of Oakley and focuses on deal origination, portfolio management and Oakley Capital Private Equity’s fundraising and investor relations.

Following an 11 year career in private equity investment, as a Partner at Advent International and a co-founding Partner at Lazard Private Equity, Victor had an 8 year experience as an entrepreneur, building and then selling the business he developed to an industrial buyer. Prior to joining Oakley in 2014, Victor was involved as executive director of several companies owned by private equity or other institutional and family office investors in Western and Eastern Europe, and responsible for building value in their investment.

Victor’s role at Oakley is as an Operating Partner, responsible for leading and driving initiatives to create value in the portfolio companies.

Victor holds a Diplôme de École Polytechnique in France, an MSc in telecoms engineering from Télécom ParisTech in Paris, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Post qualification, Anna transferred to EY’s Restructuring practice and worked across a variety of sectors.
